The problem
An event site has one job: get the right people to buy a ticket before a fixed date. The organiser had strong material (printed posters, studio portraits, videos of past events) and an audience that arrives mostly from Instagram on a phone.
The blueprint
We designed the site as a gala invitation at blue hour above Westminster. The hero is the stack of poster-invitations: it tilts with the cursor and fans out on scroll on desktop. Typography is Playfair Display, the face on the posters and ticket banners, with our own subset for Romanian diacritics. The palette comes straight from the printed material: navy, royal blue, gold and white, with a film-grain texture. A 3D Big Ben, optimised from a Creative Commons model, loads only on desktops with a real GPU; phones and the first paint get a poster rendered from the same scene, with a live HTML clock placed exactly on the dial. Speakers appear as studio portraits; the host has her own section with her words and videos; a live countdown leads to the ticket options.

The host section: Elena Rotari’s name in large type, her quote and video stills from her events.

What shipped
A fast static site that carries the event’s own look from print to screen: speakers, programme, venue and tickets in one scroll, built to be read on a phone and remembered on a laptop.
